Information about the Annual conference of the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe
Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe ( ASD ) held its annual conference in Prague on April 23 – April 25 2014. This organization associates more than 2,000 companies and 80,000 suppliers with a turnover of over € 186 billion and employs in the field of defense and security around 750,000 people. The annual conference was held under the slogan „Strengthening European competitiveness and prosperity.“
One of the four panels „Knowledge Café´s“ with the theme „Energy: ASD Sectors‘ needs and contribution towards a sustainable and stable energy supply,“ was moderated by Richard Hlavatý, Chairman of the Executive Board of TPEB Czech Republic. The issue of energy especially in the context of critical infrastructure protection appeared at this conference for the first time but proved to be very significant in the context of the new package of energy and climate policy of the Europen Commission submitted by the EC at the beginning of this year.
As speaker Richard Hlavatý presented the objectives of energy security platform TPEB Czech Republic with an emphasis on the ongoing project „Energy and cyber security.“
In the above mentioned panel appeared as a speaker also Zbyšek Boldiš, a Member of the Board of ČEPS a.s. . His presentation you can find in the attached document „Challenges for the elektricity sector from a TSO perspective“. In the attached documents you shall also find the presentation of Dieter Helm: „The European Framework for energy and climate policies“ out of which Zbyšek Boldiš featured some quotes.
