TPEB entered into new domestic and EU projects
During the last few months TPEB has intensively fulfilled its principal goal, which rests in the mediation of the R&D projects to the members.
The first project – Resilience 2015 – has been supported by the Security Research programme managed by the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Czech Republic. Within the consortium TPEB will be responsible for measuring and testing the resilience of the energy sector due to the support of the Czech national TSO (CEPS). The consortium is led by the Tomas Bata University in Zlin and includes other major Czech universities and research institutions.
Following the last year’s successful activities TPEB managed to join two consortia submitting proposals to the H2020 calls. The first project called NOSBAT intends to focus on the security of smart grid solutions in the area of electricity infrastructure. The consortium is led by ATOS (Spain) and beside other partners also includes energy distributors from Poland (TAURON), Turkey (Baskent), and Israel (IEC), which was mediated by TPEB through its Israeli partners. TPEB will primarily organize the Czech use case focusing on the security of the smart grid solutions potentially applied to manage the fluctuation of low voltage caused by the supplies provided by small producers of alternative energy. Additionally, TPEB will lead the consortium’s standardisation efforts.
The second project – RESIXT – will potentially focus on the resilience methodology related to the critical infrastructure. The consortium is led by Spanish INDRA and includes other innovative companies (f. e. EXUS). TPEB will contribute mostly to the area of energy infrastructure resilience but it has also mediated the contribution provided by the University Hospital Hradec Kralove, which will perform the case related to the medical infrastructural facility.
The above mentioned activities clearly confirm a strong potential of TPEB as of a public-private-partnership project and stimulate further endeavours of the platform in this area.
