TPEB CR Conference „CURRENT CHALLENGES IN CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE“
On 13 October, 2016 Technology Platform „Energy security of the Czech Republic“ (TPEB CR) held in the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic a conference entitled :
„CURRENT CHALLENGES IN CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE“
The conference was held under the auspices of the Subcommittee for Energy of the Chamber of Deputies.
The intention of the conference was to present strong potential of companies and institutions, members of the Platform at the time when the issue of security is becoming increasingly important. They were also institutions invited to participate that are not TPEB CR members but are actively engaged in the issue. Platform as a PPP project addressed a wide range of extraordinary topics with suggestions for their solution. Mentioned topics and the possibilities for cooperation were examined within the region, Czech-Slovak and V4+. There was also noted the high level of communication with representatives of the European Commission and the practical steps in this area that will further continue .
The conference was attended by distinguished guests, Ing. Jiří Havlíček, MBA, 1st Deputy of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and Ing. Václav Klučka, Deputy and Member of the Committee for security of the Chamber of Deputies and the President of the Managing Board of TPEB CR, who gave the opening speeches.
Further important guests at the conference, who presented their papers, were doc. Ing. Jozef Ristvej, Ph.D., Vice Chancellor of University of Žilina, Slovak Republic, Ing. Andor Šándor, General in midfield and security adviser to the terrorist threat and Colonel. doc. Ing. Pavel Maňas, Ph.D., from the Faculty of Military Technology, UNOB in Brno.
Moderating of the conference undertook Mgr. Oldřich Vojíř, Ph.D., Vice-President of the Managing Board of TPEB CR.
The program of the conference has been designed in two blocks, where members of TPEB CR and experts from other institutions and companies as well presented their lectures.
The first session was devoted to the presentations of subjects from the field of sciences and research and their activities on a plan of cooperation between companies and universities, mediated by TPEB CR. Their contributions were presented by representatives of the following professional institutions:
Tomas Bata University of Zlín, Ing. Martin Hromada, Ph.D., assistant professor of the Department of Security Engineering ,presented the topic of current trends in security research, VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava, doc. Ing. David Řehák, Ph.D., presented the topic of Resilience, Czech Technical University in Prague -Faculty of Transportation Sciences – Department of Security Technologies and Engineering, doc. Ing. Václav Jírovský, PhD., presented the topic of Smart Cities, University of Defence, Col. doc. Ing. Pavel Maňas, Ph.D., Head of Department of Engineer Technologies, Faculty of Military Technology , presented the topic of strenghtening the objects of critical infrastructure, ÚJV Řež, a. s. was represented by Ing. Jiří Žďárek, CSc., Vice president of business development. At the end of the block JUDr. Richard Hlavatý, Chairman of the Executive Board of TPEB CR presented the topic of Centre of Excellence – long-term TPEB CR strategy and project financing plan.
The second session was devoted to thematic corporate presentations, especially technological solution of the problems of critical infrastructure. In this block presented representatives of the following companies:
ČEPS a.s., represented by PhDr. Martin Bílek, Ph.D., director of security, CNS Inc., represented by Bc. Pavel Kurka, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. Furthermore, DELTA ETS energo s.r.o. & JEAN PAUL WHITECASTLE, spol. s r.o.represented by Mr Mgr. Pavel Bělohradský, CEO of JEAN PAUL White Castle, ERA a.s., represented by Mgr. Pavel Kuthan, Sales manager, Monet +, a.s., represented by Bc. Libor Šmíd, Head of G&C team, NESS Czech, Ltd., represented Ing. Martin Kult, Vice President for Strategy, TTC Marconi, s.r.o., represented by Ing. Martin Bajer, Director Unicorn Systems, a.s., represented by Ing. Marián Bártl, Director of the production division and at the end of this block Mgr. Jiří Protiva, director of The Military Technical Institute, state enterprise.
Final word on behalf of Ing. Milan Urban, Chairman of the Subcommittee for Energy, Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament, presented Ing. Aleš Cincibus, Vice Chairman of the Managing Board of TPEB CR.
Technology Platform „Energy security of the Czech Republic“ would like to take this opportunity to thank all the guests and members of TPEB CR for their highly beneficial and interesting speeches and presentations, which significantly contributed to addressing current topics in the field of critical infrastructure, particularly within the possibilities of its protection against current and future threats, which is very timely. Broad spectrum presented papers showed the complexity of this area, its coherence and at the same time confirmed the existence cooperation between a large number of research specialists from many fields with experts from various industries.
